This map shows the locations of all of the precipitation and stream flow sites that Ventura County Public Works Agency - Watershed Protection publishes historic data.
Map Legends:
Precipitation Symbols Description (inactive) (active) Standard Precipitation sites. These sites only have daily and yearly totals. (inactive) (active) Recording Precipitation sites. These sites contain recorders that can capture individual storms. These sites contan standard recorders (0.01 in), non-standard recorders (1mm), heated tipping buckets, and weighing buckets. These sites have hourly, daily and yearly data available. (inactive) (active) Annual Storage Gage sites. These sites are located in remote locations and have one or two measurements a year. These sites provide annual totals only.
Stream Flow Symbols Description (inactive) (active) ALERT Monitoring Sites. These sites are used for flood warning purposes. Some peaks and/or hydrographs may be available for a limited number of events. These sites do not have the standard QA/QC proceedures. (inactive) (active) Peak/Event Recording Sites. These sites record storm event peaks. Older data may only contain peak flows and stages for significant storm events. The most recent period may contain hydrographs along with the peaks. These sites do not record low flows. (inactive) (active) Full Recording Sites. These sites record the full range of flows. The datasets contain average daily and peak plow data. The most recent period may also contain hydrograph traces.
